I'm the guinea pig in the unretouched photos at the right. These results were achieved within 28 days doing face yoga exercises targeting droopy eyelid and crow's feet. Only minutes per day! A good result after only 4 weeks, wouldn't you say?

Truth be told, it's not so much that our faces are sagging, it's the MUSCLES underneath that need toning. In addition, we've all developed bad habits that we're probably not even aware of. The Face Yoga Method not only tightens, tones and brightens your face through easy exercises, but also benefits your posture, breathing, circulation - and can even improve your vision.

IT TOOK ME ALMOST 71 YEARS to discover this treasure, and since I'm passionate about "all things natural," I was drawn to these very specific face exercise poses and lifestyle changes that have the ability to diminish fine lines and wrinkles and/or prevent them from forming in the first place. There's good science ​behind it, as well.


What is the Face Yoga Method?

In short, it is a blend of yoga-like body postures and facial expressions that will improve your appearance and build up your overall sense of well-being. It is a unique technique to turn back the clock and/or prevent or diminish fine lines and wrinkles from forming in the first place. It focuses on your facial muscles to create a firmer, more sculpted face, neck and jawline.


Furthermore, since conscious breathing has been known to help increase blood flow to the skin, it also encourages deep-breathing techniques. With regular practice you will notice that your expressions will change and any stress lines on your face will start to smooth out. Others may notice it before YOU do. But it WILL happen! The end result is younger, radiant, glowing skin, a greater sense of self-confidence, and a new awareness from the inside out. So, just like yoga, the ultimate goal of the Face Yoga Method is self-realization.


Ever since releasing over 100 lbs. over forty years ago, I have always been interested in the most natural methods for healing the body, mind and spirit, although I have a whole new respect for medicine as I am a grateful cancer survivor since 1997 and couldn’t have gotten through it without my wonderful surgeon at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. That being said, I see so many women (and men) struggling with aging and fighting to stay as youthful looking as possible, at any cost. I see those receiving toxic chemical injections to soften age lines, and watch them spending thousands of dollars on surgeries and expensive products in an effort to look their best. When I came across the Face Yoga Method® and realized that I was very satisfied personally with the results, something resonated with me and I knew this was the next thing to add to the services I provide for my clients.
 
In addition to working with people that are fighting to look younger, there is a whole new epidemic in our culture today that effects people of all ages that I can help as well. This has to do with how people hold their posture while looking at our screens. More people have rounded shoulders, heads that are tilted forward instead of being centered on their spines, and resulting headaches and sagging face muscles.  Interestingly, there is a direct correlation between the posture of your neck, head and shoulders and the muscles in the face. I am pleased to have a way of teaching people not only mindfulness about the way in which they move or hold themselves, but exercises to relieve the pain, straighten the posture, and reduce the effects of aging in their face.

Starting something new always has some bumps along the way. I am presently the ONLY Certified Face Yoga Method® Teacher in New York, and one of only 14 in the United States.  There are other imitations out there, but the science behind THIS method drew me in. 

If you are skeptical about its effectiveness, don’t be.  The facial muscles are small, so the results are subtle, but very real.  If you are willing to practice just 10 minutes a day, you can achieve phenomenal results!  I offer a complete 8-session workshop which includes instructions and videos. I’m reaching out to those in their 40’s and up, and it is noteworthy that Singers, Actors, Speech Pathologists, and Musicians would benefit greatly from learning isolated exercises to tighten, tone, and strengthen specific muscles in their face. Private Sessions are available via Skype as well.

About the Face Yoga Method®
The Face Yoga Method was created by founder Fumiko Takatsu of Japan. After teaching for 10 years in Japan, she opened up her training to others. I was personally trained by Fumiko in the second class ever taught, and one of only 14 students in the US, all others being from around the world. As a Holistic Health Coach, Laughter Wellness Practitioner, USUI Reiki, Qigong Practitioner and Color Therapy Practitioner, I have always found the human body fascinating and have extensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology. I begin my classes by showing clients pictures of the various muscles in the face so that they can envision what they look like, where they attach, and how to isolate them with the exercises/postures to create a physical change. In addition, I incorporate my knowledge of holistic health into every Face Yoga session.

The practice of Face Yoga is simple in that there is no need for equipment, no need to wear anything special, no use of toxic chemicals, fillers or surgeries, and can be performed anywhere once the exercises are learned properly. Although they look easy, they are quite complex as most people are not aware of the various ways in which they move their muscles during normal activities like talking or reading. As an example, most people lift their forehead and furrow their brows in order to open their eyes. It takes practice and coaching to become aware of this and learn new habits. AAH... this newly learned "muscle memory" will empower you!  Just like regular yoga classes, nothing takes the place of professional teaching and corrections.

I think what I am most proud of is my ability to make a difference to people in a very profound and natural way. Women in particular can often feel depressed when they see the changes that occur in their appearance as they age. They often feel desperate and will turn to anything at any cost. After practicing Face Yoga regularly, people find themselves feeling uplifted and happier. My tagline is, Face Yoga is “the crowning touch to your fitness program”, since exercise programs routinely neglect the facial muscles. 

Some of the results that people can expect to see over time include: reduction of circles and bags under the eyes, redefining of the cheeks, neck and jawline, reduced wrinkles, increased blood flow and circulation, and an overall youthful appearance. People will also begin having less headaches, less backaches, and less rounded shoulders.


Face Yoga is for men, women, and children. The sooner people start noticing how they use their face muscles, the better, as the toning exercises diminish fine lines and wrinkles – or – prevent them from happening in the first place! Before I close, I'd like you to do this experiment with a hand-held mirror: (1) look straight ahead into the mirror; then (2) hold the mirror at ceiling level and look into it again - (this was your appearance about ten years ago), and then (3) hold the mirror toward the floor and look into it: this will be you - in 10 years - if you do nothing.
